CAPTURED IN LENS | Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) holds a flag-raising ceremony at the Gilberto O. Teodoro Multipurpose Center on 19 May, led by the Library Services in collaboration with the TAU Chorale. The event highlights the first-ever visit of Commission on Higher Education (CHEd) Commissioner Dr. Desiderio R. Apag III, who also chairs the TAU Board of Regents.

A key moment of the ceremony focuses on the unveiling of TAU’s new strategic framework led by Dr. Apag, TAU President Dr. Silverio Ramon DC. Salunson, and the four vice presidents. Designed to streamline and optimize academic development, research innovations, and community partnerships, said operational blueprint was made official via Board Resolution No. 22, s. 2025.

𝐂𝐀𝐏𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐄𝐃 𝐈𝐍 𝐋𝐄𝐍𝐒 | Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) President Dr. Silverio Ramon DC. Salunson joined His Excellency Ilan Fluss, Ambassador of the State of Israel to the Philippines, in celebrating Israel’s 77th Independence Day in Makati City on 22 May.

TAU and Israel, through MASHAV (Israel’s Agency for International Development Cooperation), have partnered since before the establishment of the SMART Agriculture Center at the University in 2019. This collaboration has facilitated the introduction of advanced agricultural technologies to farmers, students, researchers, and partners.

Under TAU’s new strategic framework, Dr. Salunson reaffirmed the University’s commitment to expanding collaboration with Israel and MASHAV to promote sustainable agriculture and innovative farming practices across Central Luzon and the Philippines.

𝐂𝐇𝐑𝐎𝐍𝐈𝐂𝐋𝐄𝐒 | 𝐓𝐀𝐔-𝐂𝐄𝐓 𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐬 𝐌𝐎𝐔 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐢 𝐇𝐄𝐈 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧

Emphasizing international educational cooperation and academic exchanges, the Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) through the College of Engineering and Technology (CET) sealed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Kasetsart University (KU), at the Office of the President (OP) Conference Room, on 23 May.

Representing TAU in this event were Dr. Silverio Ramon DC. Salunson, TAU President; Dr. Ruben A. Parazo, CET Dean; Dr. Joven A. Tolentino, Department Chair of Computer Studies Department; Ms. Caroline N. Gabis, Chief of Partnership Development - External Linkages and International Affairs (ELIA); and other faculty and staff from CET’s Computer Science Department. 

On the other hand, KU was represented by Dr. Somchoke Reungittinun, who came all the way from Chatuchak Bangkok, Thailand.

Blending heritage and modernity, the Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) spearheaded by the Sociocultural and Development Office (SDO) led by its Director, Ms. Cecile L. Lapitan, elevated traditional art forms and activities through the Festival of Talents 2025 with the theme “Hakbang ng Kultura: Isang Paglalakbay Dala ang Sining at Kultura sa Makabagong Panahon” held in various areas of the University on 25 April and 2 May.

Through this cultural convergence, the SDO office showcased diverse perspectives and creative prowess of TAU students in various contests and sought to identify future cultural ambassadors who can represent the University in both local and global stages. 

This year’s competition gathered students from the University’s six colleges including the Laboratory School (LS). Three representatives per department competed in Visual Arts, Literary Arts, and Musical Arts while 26 young ladies and men vied for the title of Mister and Miss TAU 2025.

In the overall tally, the College of Education (CEd) captured the championship title with 73 points. Close behind, College of Arts and Science (CAS) secured the second place with 62 points and higher counts of bronze making College of Engineering and Technology (CET) with an identical medal count settle for third.
